Meet one of my favorite things, the Cyro Roller. It is my best friend & it might be your best friend too.

It is something I use for my neck, lower back and shoulder pains. I have also used it in my sessions, and I have recommended it to my clients for home use. This is not a sponsored ad. It's just one therapist's opinion.

First, let's talk about what it is. The cyro roller ball is usually made from 304 food-

grade stainless steel and filled with nontoxic cooling gel, which can be kept cold or warm for a long time. The base of the Cyro roller is made with ABS and rubber for optimal grip. The top screws off, making it easy to clean and use. The metal ball comes out (which is the part you would put in the freezer or hot water). It comes in different sizes and shapes. Use it for your heat therapy or cold therapy.

SideBar: Heat/Cold Therapy is a topic I get asked about and is the subject of my next week's article (heat vs. cold: when to use it).

Cold Therapy

There are cold packs, gel packs, or even your bag of peas. You might even use ice in a cup. But they all can be messy or cumbersome to use. The Cyro roller is a beautiful alternative. The ball is easy to apply to any area of your body. And if you are a migraine sufferer like me, you will love the relief of the metal ball rolling around your temples or the back of your neck. For your cold application, separate the ball from the unit and pop it in the freezer for just an hour. You can even leave it in your refrigerator overnight. When ready, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes, then reassemble & use.

Heat Therapy

For your heat application, which I recommend it most for, it's just as easy to use as cold therapy. First, screw off the top to remove the ball. Then, place the ball in hot water (for professionals, put it in your warming appliance) for just 5 to 10 minutes, reassemble and use. Remember, in both cases of cold and heat, allow some time for the ball to sit before reassembling. I also recommend that you test it on your inner arm before applying it. You can roll it in areas that are tight or sore. You can use it anywhere, like your neck, lower back, legs, and arms. Cyro Roller is different from a heating pad or pack and it's because of the metal ball. It rolls and contours to your body, giving you that direct relief. It is easy to use, and it feels great. All of my clients who use this for their muscle relief say it's one of the best. If you are looking for an alternative to use for your heat or cold therapy, try a cyro roller.
